Nuendo omf to pro tools
I had a similar problem, and solved it by passing through Logic first The sessions that were 32 bit in cubase were a no-go and had to be consolidated and exported as wav files. Hey there, glad it helped! Nuendo 5 allows for conversion of stereo tracks and files to dual-mono and back , but Cubase 5 I take it doesn't.
However, you might want to export the tracks, or re-record them as two mono tracks in cubase itself, and use those for the export. My Studio. Just need to work out how to convert stereo files to 2 x mono files in Cubase and I will be 'cooking with gas. I just picked up nuendo 5 too "convert tracks" to dual mono.
You get the option to delete, mute the original stereo track and the new mono tracks that are created are auto named, maintain fades and xfades, and maintain plug in settings, routing, automation etc Attached Thumbnails. This from Steinberg. There are two versions of the OMF format v. OMF v. OMF can reference its containing media data external mode or embed it internal mode.
Sample Rates are supported from Hz to Hz. Bit depth can be 8,16 and 24 bits. ProTools will not be able to open OMF files with stored clip names. You should also make sure that you split all stereo tracks because they will be imported mono in ProTools. Stereo files can also be a problem with some other applications. If you are exporting an OMF file that contains stereo files, make sure that the next application in the workflow is able to read OMF files with included stereo files.
Muted files are not transfered with the OMF. If you want to keep these files, please un-mute all events you want to keep. You can program a project logical-editor rule for that reason. To guarantee the best compatibility we recommend embedding the media data.
Especially if you are switching the operating systems from Windows to MAC OS because file paths could be interpreted wrongly. So I dont think its a HD format issue. When I tried the Ptools import, it showed only 1 track. I'm thinking maybe that the one track that was readable was the only 1 without interleaved files. David-rovin Yeah it shows one track of rubbish if you use an OMF. David Rovin - Have you tried separating the interleaved files in to mono files to see if that solves the issue?
There is a batch process in Nuendo that can conform all the files so you don't have to do it one by one manually. I ended up spending a couple of days exporting WAV files because nothing could work.
I would consider buying pro convert if I was sure the cross platform thing wont be an issue. I noticed there are separate PC and Mac versions. I am worried that i will pro-convert it and then bring it over and it still fails. I suspect i too will do wav exports I just hate to lose the heads and tails in case they need to tweak things at the mix — David Rovin. I haven't used Pro Convert so I can't comment first hand. David Besides ProConvert, there is this an other software: aatranslator, aatranslator.
Have to do some research when I worked in a studio with both nuendo and protools I'm a little late to the conversation, David, so I hope you've figured this out. A few notes worth sharing - PT does NOT like border of fade ins and fade outs touching one another - ie. Good luck! Phonetical Phonetical 3 3 silver badges 7 7 bronze badges. Thanks for the response. I got it done, but it was a bit of a nightmare.
I wound up just dumping WAVs, stripping silence, and renaming everything. I love my Nuendo though.
